OpenADR 3 Test Tool Overview
The OpenADR Alliance has developed this test tool client (TT) that can be used to test and certify both VTNs and VENs.
Roles
The Test Tool interface supports multiple user types:
- VTN tester: Execute VTN test runs
- VEN tester: Execute VEN test runs
- VTN certifier: Create certification licenses and execute certification tests
- VEN certifier: Create certification licenses and execute certification tests
- Certification Manager: Reserved for OpenADR Alliance admins to verify certification tests
Licenses
Use of the online test tool requires a license, covering both development and certification. Licenses must be obtained from openadr.org.
VTN Testing and Certification
Over 200 test scripts verify a VTN’s responses to typical and edge-case scenarios. After obtaining a license and provisioning, testers can log in and run VTN tests from the tool’s UI, verifying compliance before moving to official certification.
